LONG BOILERPLATE Nearly Neighbors is a new solo-piano chamber musical about the power of proximity and what happens in the space between. Set across two opposing balconies in Hell's Kitchen, it follows Rachel, a recently successful tech founder, and Stacy, a longtime New Yorker who has little interest in being impressed. Over a year, what starts as irritation becomes conversation and reluctant collaboration as Rachel pulls Stacy into building a new business idea. The musical explores the cost and the gain of witnessing another, and being witnessed in return. With book, music, and lyrics by Joshua Vranas, Nearly Neighbors is in development with director Jade King Carroll, music director Sujin Kim-Ramsey, and Jenn Colella as Stacy in the developmental reading. Lead producers are Ash Marie Alina and Nikita Chernin.
